Why Power BI is quickly becoming the leading platforms for data analysis
It’s always fun helping clients gain better insight into their business? During most account meetings, the conversation eventually includes this: “Our reporting is bad, I wish I could somehow have access to the right data to make better business decisions.” Although many tools can produce this desired outcome, Microsoft’s Power BI platform is quickly becoming the solution of choice. Here is a quick summary of why decision makers and executives are relying on data from Power BI. Top reasons: Cost: According to Gartner Group, Power BI is one of the lowest priced solutions on the market today and roughly 80% lower than other cloud products. You can start with the Power BI FREE Desktop, BI Pro $9.99 per user per month, or Power BI Premium (capacity pricing option based on per node per month). Many companies already own Power BI licenses as part of their Office 365 suite. Connectors: Here […]
From AdWords to NetSuite - Implement Pay Per Click Campaign data into CRM
Who uses NetSuite? NetSuite provides a full CRM (customer relationship management) and ERP (cloud-based enterprise resource planning) technology solutions. A traditional answer would be sales and accounting. But business has changed a lot in the past two years, in particular, marketing. There has been a rise in machine learning automation as opposed to rules-based. This helped search engine marketers adopt Programmatic Marketing and use automated bidding or Real-time Bidding (RTB). Business collaboration and connection are replacing hierarchy and bureaucracy. So the challenge that digital marketers are facing is integrating SEM data into NetSuite for full sales cycle visibility. With a custom integrated marketing solution, you can now import Pay Per Click data directly into NetSuite CRM. Adding fields like campaigns and keywords with metrics like clicks, costs, and conversion rates add valuable insight into the lead generation process. This allows development of robust reporting within a single software solution. PPC advertising is carried […]

Office 365 bulk attribute update via PowerShell
In today fast-paced business environment, management attempt to perform an Office 365 users audit might find that the company had grown faster than they kept up with. Lots of unfamiliar names with assigned licenses and difficulties telling who belonged to which department. A request was put in for the Office 365 administrator to update user profiles with additional information such as title, department, and phone. A fairly easy task to perform, but quite a tall order if the information was not populated for all 126 users. Here is where PowerShell comes to the rescue! The tool can be leveraged and the list can be updated in a template spreadsheet to eliminate the need to edit individual profiles within Office 365 admin portal. Such tasks may take hours to complete. Prerequisites: Office 365 “cloud” users. This process will not work on users that are synchronized from on-premises Active Directory via Dirsync […]

What's New in NetSuite 2017.2
Each new release of NetSuite brings a host of fresh features and improvements to existing functionality - 2017.2 is no exception. In a sign of Oracle’s focus on customer satisfaction, many of the new features originated as enhancements requested by the user community. This article will review a few of the most anticipated enhancements that are introduced in NetSuite 2017.2: 1. Advanced BOM functionality Historically, a NetSuite Assembly item has a one-to-one relationship with a Bill of Materials. The Bill of Materials can be modified, but the modification would then be used in all future builds or work orders. Similarly, existing BOM versioning capabilities (Revision Number or Effective Date) ensure that all assemblies are produced using the same BOM at a given point in time. The Advanced BOM, introduced in 2017.2, severs the link between Assembly Item and BOM, allowing multiple concurrent BOMs for a single assembly item and for […]

2017 Mid-Year Sales Tax Changes
Repost from Avalara Dealing with change is standard operating procedure for many companies: employees leave and are hired; new products are introduced and old ones phased out; there are booms, and there are busts. On top of all that, companies need to account for sales and use tax changes. Significant changes in rates, regulations, and product taxability often take effect July 1, which is the start of a new fiscal year in all but a few states. At the end of 2016, we shared many of the sales tax changes set to occur January 1, 2017. These included state sales tax rate changes in California and New Jersey, the expansion of sales tax to certain services in North Carolina, the prohibition of taxing more services in Missouri, and a bevy of recently enacted soda taxes and tampon tax exemptions. At mid-year, we’re seeing a few propositions that signify a dramatic […]
