Feature update on Group Conversations in Outlook
As a collaborative tool, Office 365 has a feature called Office 365 Groups to collect resources to share with group members. Office 365 Groups allows the option to consolidate conversations, calendar items, files, and tasks. The feature integrates with existing Microsoft products like Outlook, Yammer, Teams, SharePoint, and Planner. When a user is part of a group, all emails and meeting invites are sent directly to the user’s inbox and stored in the group folder. Conversations in Office 365 Groups in Outlook happen in the shared inbox for the group. Users can participate in discussions and activities within the Outlook client as each conversation appears separately in the message list. The message itself is displayed as a conversational stacked thread and can be responded to directly. With the Version 1712 (Build 8827.2148) update released by Microsoft on January 2018 through the Office 365 Monthly Channel, it included a feature update […]
GP Login Error: “The login failed. Attempt to login again or contact your system administrator”
Implementing a new Dynamics GP environment or migrating an existing GP to new servers it's not an easy task. So I think it's safe to say, we've all encountered our fair share of complications when doing so. In this blog, we will go over a GP Login Error of not being able to login with SQL sa credentials, and exactly how to resolve it.  We will start with an overall understanding of the GP Login Error by visiting Microsoft Support and reviewing the following suggestions: Confirm password information for sa. Check Data Source configuration for GP client (ODBC). Check versioning for GP. If a service pack is available, consider installing it. Review permissions for the smDex_Max_Char stored procedure. To put this in practice, we took an example of a recent case, where a client was migrating databases associated with GP to a new SQL server. After the databases were migrated, the system administrator was […]
Dynamics GP Deployment in Multinational Environment
Company A is becoming a multinational corporation and has made acquisitions to expand operations at various locations across the world. Can a Dynamics GP solution be deployed so the environment only has a single set of databases? Yes, indeed. Multiple Dynamics GP clients of different languages can be installed and connected to the same database backend in a single environment. Should a company be operating in multiple areas in the world, localization is available for the Dynamics GP client. Some localizations may have additional features and functionality available that are geared towards its specific area. For a list of available modules and countries, click here. In general, a deployment of multiple Dynamics GP client localizations requires install and configuration of the primary location first, and then the secondary. Summarized steps are as follows: Install Primary localization of Dynamics GP Client. Run GP Utilities. Launch GP and log in SA for […]
Issue with Dynamics GP Web Client - Unable to Log into the GP Web Client with Error Code: “There is no such object on the server”
I recently encountered an issue where Dynamics GP users no longer were able to log into the GP Web Client with their domain credentials. Before the issue was reported (by multiple users), the users were able to log in without problems. When attempting to log in to the GP Web Client with domain credentials at the initial login, an error was displayed stating “Unexpected Error” with the following notes – “An unexpected error has occurred. Press the Sign-in button to reconnect to the application.” When clicking the “Sign In” button the system will load the login screen. By browsing to the Event Viewer and reviewing the logs for Dynamics GP I noted the following message: d2ac643a-e378-45a3-bc89-b508c8de5d66:An unexpected error has occurred. Press the Sign-in button to reconnect to the application.: (0x80004005): Exception of type 'System.Web.HttpUnhandledException' was thrown. ---> System.ServiceModel.FaultException`1[System.ServiceModel.ExceptionDetail]: There is no such object on the server. (Fault Detail is equal to […]
7 Steps to Manually Download and Install CRM Update Rollup 13 - Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Install on Windows Server 2012
Recently, I experienced an issue when trying to install Dynamics CRM 2011 on Windows Server 2012. The installation made it past the “Download and Install Required Components” portion but then stalled without any prompts appearing. According to Task Manager, both Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server setup and Microsoft Dynamics CRM were still running but in idle mode. Through a quick Google search, I came across an article noting that a supported update for the installation, Update Rollup 13, was available. During my initial CRM installation, no rollup updates were detected and downloaded which caused the CRM install to fail. By manually downloading the Update Rollup 13 file and executing the setup via command prompt (referencing the update file), I was able to successfully install Dynamics CRM 2011 on Windows Server 2012. Follow the 7 easy steps below: 1. Go to Search for ‘KB2434455’ Click Add for “Setup Update for Microsoft […]
